The following should be used as a general reference only for selecting a pet carrier:
- petite size pet carriers -- pets weighing 3 lbs. or less
- XS size pet carriers -- pets weighing 4 to 5 lbs.
- small size pet carriers -- pets weighing 6 to 8 lbs.
- medium size pet carriers -- pets weighing 9 to 12 lbs.
- large size pet carriers -- pets weighing 15 to 28 lbs.
- XL size pet carriers -- pets weighing 20 lbs or more
